KitchenAid Professional HD Mixer Review
So i was on the mission to find the best possible mixer on the market…
I got four:
- KitchenAid 90th anniversary (325W/5qt)
- KitchenAid Ultra Power Plus (300w/4.5qt)
- KitchenAid Professional HD (475w/5qt)
- Cuisinart SM-55 5-1/2-Quart Stand Mixer
Out of all the pivot lift kitchenaid mixers the 90th anniversary was the nicest. I really liked the glass bowl, dysentery though i was always worried i’m going to shatter it while cleaning)
The Ultra power was not strong enough for dough, rx It may be suitable for occasional dough making, but if you plan on using it for dough, Skip it and go with the 400W and up.
The Cuisinart was a nice machine but the base is a little too narrow, it wobbles quite easily. I also didn’t appreciate the start/stop button, I would have preferred a zero on the round nob. The bowl was made of 2 pieces so cleaning was a much harder task than the KitchenAid bowls.
Out of all the mixers i think the KitchenAid Professional HD is the best. Very powerful, good mixing action. The only drawback is that it’s tall. It will not fit on my counter below the cabinets.
Edit: 03/01/2010
I’ve been using the Professional HD for over a week now and I did notice that in a small batch of dough it’s hard to get the flour mixed without helping it a bit.
